Remembering Never to Forget: National Day of Remembrance Ceremony for Murder Victims 2022

About the Ceremony:

Please join us in-person or virtually via Zoom on Friday, September 23, 2022 to honor the lives of murdered loved ones. The live event will accommodate 50 registered people. Lunch is included. We also welcome virtual attendees. This is a FREE event hosted by Angela Crockett of the Hopewell Victim/Witness Assistance Program, and Dina Blythe, Homicide Survivor Support Group Coordinator of the Virginia Victim Assistance Network.

This is a state-wide event for Virginia residents (Surviving Family and Friends, and allied professionals).

Registration ends September 19th at 5pm.

Event Details:

Registrants who attend in-person are asked to be present by 11:30am to check in, fix a plate of food, and find a comfortable seat. Virtual participants are asked to log in 10- 15 minutes prior, if possible. Please allow time for the host to let you into Zoom. A link will be sent one week prior to the event.

The ceremony will include a reading of your loved one's name/s.

Keynote Speaker: Mr. Ambrose Lane, Chair of the DC Health Alliance Network and former Chair of the DC Department of Health. 

Who:

Virginians whose friend or family member was murdered, as well as professionals working with surviving friends and family members, are invited to attend.

When:

Friday, September 23, 2022.

11:30am-3:30pm -In-person event. (Lunch is available 11:30-Noon).

Noon-2:30pm- Virtual event.

Where:

The in-person event will begin at 11:30am at The Beacon Theater, 401 N. Main Street, Hopewell, VA. 23860.

The parking lot is shared with the local church beside of the theater.

The virtual event and the ceremony will begin at 12:15pm. Please allow just a few brief moments for the hosts to let you in. Virtual registrants will receive Zoom links at least one week prior to the event.
