This session is part of the Exploring & Expanding Advocate Wellness virtual series, facilitated by Kim Flournoy DiJoseph, The Network's Wellness Consultant. The series borrows from the NCVRW's 2022 theme of "Rights, Access, Equity" and invites victim advocates to explore and expand these themes in relation to our own well-being. There is no cost to attend these virtual sessions.

The word equity denotes a quality of being fair and balanced. In this session, we will engage in a guided meditation with the intention of finding equity in what we give to our work and what we give to ourselves.

Let’s come together to explore and expand on the concept of equity as it relates to what we give and our ability to receive. What does inner balance look and feel like for you? How does claiming (and taking!) time to be still and reunite with your own inner equity affect your ability to show up in your work with victims?

This will be a facilitated, guided meditation meant to support advocates in visualizing their own symbol of balance and will include time for advocates to share their personal symbols and take-aways from the meditation.

Following this session, advocates will be offered ways to continue engaging in group experiences as a wellness tool: forthcoming details about Mindful Mondays in May (a virtual, brief, guided meditation offering) and Wellness Consultations (individualized wellness plans and session offerings for advocates and teams).
